The Spring Workshop comes a little late this year but as usual will address themes of renewal and vitality. Is our yoga set in stone? What kinds of habits do we hold on to, in mind and body, and how do we really explore new dimensions in our practice? It is suitable for students with at least one year of regular attendance in Iyengar yoga classes and who are reasonably confidant/stable in sarvangasana (shoulderstand) and will include asana (physical postures) and pranayama (breath work).

Winter is a great time for exploring flow and dynamism within your practice.  Mobility and stability, flow and restraint: these qualities are not only about the outward expression of how you move in and out of poses. It is the subtle dynamism, cultivated within, that is even more richly rewarding and brings you closer to achieving the profound balance that yoga promises. In this workshop we will work on various ways to understand dynamism within your yoga practice.
Date: August 1 and 2, 2015:
Saturday: 2:30pm – 5:30pm
Sunday: 8:00am – 10:00am & 12:30pm – 3:00pm
Venue: Moore Street Yoga Room: Suite 103, 62 Moore Street, Austinmer

Johnny's Autumn workshop traditionally focuses on the creation, conservation and flow of energy in the body. There will be work on all categories of poses but with a specific focus on the breath and how the organic and endocrine systems are looked after.

Johnny will have a short break from December 18 - December 25 before beginning his popular Holiday Yoga program on December 26:

Freshness, vitality and renewal are the hallmarks of spring. But how do we keep our yoga practice 'new' while building on past experience and knowledge? This workshop will explore this theme, in relation to mind, body and breath, in an energetic format . It is suitable for students with at least one year of regular attendance in Iyengar yoga classes and who are reasonably confidant/stable in sarvangasana (shoulderstand) and will include asana (physical postures) and pranayama (breath work).

SetubundaNew this year will be a Restorative/Remedial class on Wednesdays at Noon and regular Study Workshops throughout the year, both at the Moore Street Yoga Room, Austinmer. The Restorative/Remedial sessions are for those recovering from injuries or dealing with cronic conditions and will focus on developing an individualised practice for participants and acquiring the skills to allow reintergration into regular classes. The group will be small and bookings are essential. The Study Workshops are for serious yoga students who wish to deepen their knowledge of alignment principles, techniques, variations, adjustments and the whys and wherefores of Iyengar Yoga. If you are interested in either of these new programs please contact Johnny.

All the best for your yoga in 2014
