YogaCosmosWelcome to a new year of yoga!

All my classes are now up and running for 2019. The current timetable is below.

My summer program went really well and it was great to see many of the regulars as well as to meet new people, both beginners and experienced alike. Thanks for coming along, and thanks for your enthusiasm!

Haven’t seen you for a while?
I’ve also had a few faces show up to renew their yoga practice after not seeing them for quite a few years. I love it when that happens, and so to encourage those wanting to get back to class I am offering the Introductory Pass to anyone I haven’t seen for six months or more. The Intro pass gives you 10 classes to use within 10 weeks for $110, so it provides a great way to get yourself back into it again.

Do you feel too stiff, too unfit, too achy to come to yoga?
Don’t worry, it’s my job to help you through that. Although taught in a group, yoga is a personal practice so you progress at your own pace, with my guidance. You don’t have to be fit or flexible or without injuries or restrictions to get started: as the aphorism goes - you have to start any journey from where you are right now. Don’t put it off or you’ll never get there! Helping you to face the challenges that come up, calmly, safely and effectively, is the essence of my work: my aim is to make sure everyone is okay and I pace the classes accordingly.

Have you been coming to classes regularly for a year or more?
It may be time to step-up to more commitment and a greater challenge. I would encourage my regulars, and all experienced students, to come along to my ‘Experienced’ classes. In these classes you will develop your knowledge and deepen your practice and focus. Many people tell me about the benefits they experience from keeping up General classes. But why stop there? The benefits available from a deeper absorption in the subject are potentially boundless.

Do you have more severe restrictions, health conditions or are you recovering from injury or surgery?
My Restorative / Remedial class runs for 4 terms each year. Term 1 for 2019 begins on February 13, Wednesdays 12pm - 1:30pm. Booking is required. This class works on improving mobility, strength and balance for those who are facing severe obstacles. It also devotes time to the nourishing and calming qualities of the restorative poses. This course is also an option for those who want to transition to general classes but are feeling they need a slower build up.

Do you feel the need for one-on-one tuition?
Anyone who feels they may benefit from one-on-one tuition, please feel free to make contact as private classes are always an option. These are available at either the Austinmer studio or in your own home.

The NDIS?
If you are a client of the NDIS you may be able to access funding for private sessions; check with your provider. I currently have a couple of clients doing private classes through this scheme and finding it very beneficial.

Autumn and Winter Workshop
My Autumn workshop will be on Sunday March 31.
My Winter Workshop will be on Saturday June 29 and Sunday June 30.

All the best for the year ahead,
